Holly Moose Lodge update: FIRE, DUES, NEW MEMBER APPLICATIONS, ACTIVITES

FIRE: As of 7/27, we can report that all the equipment and appliances & equipment have been removed. The electricity has been restored. The Social Quarters carpet has been pulled, the back bar has been removed as well as mirrors.. Basement demolition continues and the roof repair process is underway.
The roof work is a temporary repair of holes only as workers will still need to be on the Lodge roof in order to work on Andy’s Place south wall. Once the wall above our roof is complete, we will work on partial or full roof replacement. Beer, wine and liquor was inventoried and destroyed with the assistance of the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
The Holly Board of Officers approved a budgetary quote to improve the bar area upon rebuild. This will include opening of the ceiling to give the bar-side appearance similar to that of the dining room. That said, the Board is also in the process of applying for a $25,000 Grant for a much needed “kitchen expansion” which is currently being offered from Moose International. (fingers crossed!)
DUES: Holly Moose #1168 currently has 253 expired members with many more to come after July 31st. Please check your cards. If you expire on July, 31,2022 you
can easily be renewed online at https://secure.mooseintl.org/QuickPay .

NEW MEMBERSHIP REQUESTS: For those choosing to apply for a Holly Moose Lodge #1168 membership can do so at www.beamoose.org easily with the online application process. Should current members wish to sponsor a new Holly Moose Lodge membership, one can turn in money and application to any of the Board of Officers, Bob Schultz, Michelle Justice or Becky Jones. If any current members have NEW membership applications, these too, will be collected at the 7/31 Annual Family Picnic (see ACTIVITIES for details).

Holly Moose Family Picnic - noon to 6pm
Sunday, July 31st VALID MOOSE ID REQUIRED TO ATTEND! (we will have a card check and dues renewal available on this day) If you are renewing dues, please bring correct CASH ONLY. Join us for a fun filled day at Lakeside Memorial Park with food, drink, music, 50/50’s and the Annual WOTM Cornhole Tournament! Bring a side dish to pass. Time is from noon until 6 PM.
Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall - August 4th - 8th Volunteers are needed each day
8/4 - The moving wall hosted by Holly Area Chamber of Commerce and Holly Veterans Resource Center will arrive in Holly at the Karl Richter Campus around 10 am on Thursday, with an opening ceremony at 3pm (VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!)
8/5 - Moving Wall open 24/7 with POW/MIA Ceremony at 7 pm
8/6 - Moving Wall open 24/7 with Veterans Reunion 1pm - 4pm, Reflections at 7pm
8/7 - Moving Wall open 24/7 with Closing Ceremony at 3pm
8/8 - Dismantle wall and clean site.

Blues Brews & Barbeque - Saturday, August 6th
Hosted by the Holly Chamber of Commerce and the Holly Moose Lodge. Dinner & Music for $20 or $5 for music after 7 pm. “Lester Blues” will be performing from 7 pm until 11 pm! Tickets available at Holly Chamber, Winglemire Furniture, The State Bank, or at the door!
