FIRE UPDATE

Writer's picture: likeitlouder2likeitlouder2

On Tuesday June 21, 2022 around 3:45 pm, the Village of Holly suffered a horrendous fire that spread to three buildings in Battle Alley while several more suffered smoke and water damage. There were NO injuries, thank God, as everyone evacuated safely.

Thanks to an amazing response of first responders FROM EIGHTEEN DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES, our Holly Moose was spared of fire. However, we did receive smoke, water and roof damage. The lodge took approximately 2' of water into the basement as the Fire Departments were pumping 2,000 gallons of water a minute! Because that basement is partially dirt, the mud spread everywhere. It appears we have roof damage (our new roof at that) from falling bricks. Water infiltrated our Social Quarters from above, so we lost some of the ceiling tiles. All in all, the lodge faired pretty well as it could have been so much worse.

We at the Holly Lodge are currently awaiting for an insurance & engineering inspection. The structural integrity of our north wall (Shared with Andy's Place) will determine our outcome. We want to thank all the Moose Lodges from around the country that have already reached out to us. We should have a better understanding of our situation in the next day or two. Thank you all. A huge thank you and may God bless all the first responders that did an AMAZING job from keeping the fire from spreading further than it did.

We will keep you all informed as we learn more in the coming days. More information can be found on our Facebook page at...
